People of Donora, vol. 1

The first volume of a planned series of books recognizing the significant achievements and contributions of past and present Donora residents is now available for purchase.
People of Donora, vol. 1, is the culmination of the research and memories of Donora native, Dr. Charles Stacey, and will serve as a prelude for future publications sampling those who established the value systems and characteristics of the “Home of Champions”.
The book is a compilation of biographies of over 80 men and women who made their marks in science and medicine, athletics, business and industry, education, religion, government and community service and the arts. The work also features some of the iconic images of Donora’s bygone days, depicting the hard work of the immigrants and their descendants who built this community.
While the names Musial and Griffey are often cited as the most recognizable in the history of the former mill town, many other names deserve credit. People of Donora highlights those Donorans who became leaders in their fields throughout the United States and abroad.
The publication of this work was made possible by Badzik Printing Service, Inc., a long time Donora business.

At the present time, ordering online directly from the library is the only way to purchase your copy.
